Funds we administer
Hunter Development Corporation administers key funds on behalf of the NSW Government.
This includes the Newcastle Port Community Contribution (NPCC) Fund, the Newcastle Mines Grouting Fund (NMGF) and the fully allocated Hunter Infrastructure Investment Fund (HIIF).
Newcastle Port Community Contribution Fund
Newcastle Port Community Contribution Fund (NPCC) annual funding supports community infrastructure around the Port of Newcastle to improve amenity and community access to spaces around the Port.
Under this initiative, an amount no less than $1 million per year will be made available under the Newcastle Port lease agreement.
Newcastle Mines Grouting Fund
NGMF is an initiative set up by the NSW Government in 2015 as a pilot program to address the issue of local mine subsidence and its impact on development within the Newcastle CBD. It is designed to promote new investment by giving financial certainty about the cost of mine remediation. It also includes an investigation program to better understand the condition of former mine workings and design more cost-effective and sustainable remediation strategies, where they exist.
Hunter Infrastructure Investment Fund
The NSW Government established the HIIF in 2011 to enhance the Hunter’s infrastructure, including transport, education, water and health infrastructure to support economic growth and enhance the liveability of the region.
The final $50 million of the $450 million government allocation has been awarded and HDC continues its administration role regarding these projects.
