The University of Newcastle is creating a world-class campus – Gosford Central – on the Central Coast. Work on the $63.8-million project is nearing completion.
In an exciting milestone for the region, Gosford Central is expected to generate new jobs, support emerging local industries and continue the revitalisation of the Gosford CBD. The campus will offer study options tailored to the skill needs of the region, such as education, social science, business and pathway programs.
The University is targeting a 6-star Green Star rating, the highest achievable level in the standard for healthy, resilient and positive buildings and places.
Works are continuing throughout 2025, with classes expected to start in 2026.
Sneak Peak open day - 1 December 2025
Explore the building, meet University staff and students, and discover the study and career pathways available on the Central Coast.
Prospective students, school principals and career advisors are invited to preview the facility’s offerings and learn about study options, admissions and support services.

In March 2025, the University reached a major milestone by 'topping out' the building, which marks the completion of the building structure.
We worked with the University and the Greater Cities Commission to help bring the campus to Gosford, where it will be located on HCCDC land on Mann Street. The project was formally approved by NSW Government in 2023.
